The Stoning of Soraya M.

A good review here, highlighting the moral issues raised by the film, and by Islam in the modern world.

And another, at Pajamas Media, fittingly titled, “An Unflinching Look at the Unconscionable.”

Thanks for the link, Katie, to that insightful review.  My mother-in-law’s family escaped from Iran in the 1920’s.  Her Chaldean Christian parents witnessed many atrocities while there, and endured many hardships during their journey to the United States, not the least of which was the death of their baby daughter during their passage; but all these sacrifices seemed small in comparison to escaping from a barbaric, patriarchal regime and granting their subsequent four daughters a free life in a free country.  I will check out The Stoning at my first opportunity, and post my thoughts.
